The FSB Public Relations Center reported on the exposure of 'intelligence-subversive' activities of the British Oxford Russia Fund, recognized in Russia as an 'undesirable' organization. According to the security forces, the fund recruited Russian professors to work 'to the detriment of the country's security'.
'It has been reliably established that representatives of higher educational institutions from the Volgograd, Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, and Tomsk regions, on the instructions of foreign NGO functionaries, distributed literature and manuals in universities promoting support for sexual minorities and LGBT values. Simultaneously, the British NGO, through a created network of contacts, was working to gather information on the development of the domestic political and socio-economic situation in the country under the conditions of the special operation in Ukraine', the intelligence agency's statement notes.
The security forces issued warnings to 15 university professors, drew up a protocol on one teacher for participating in the activities of an 'undesirable' organization, and also obliged one of the educational institutions to eliminate 'the causes and conditions that create threats to the security of our country'.
The official statement of the intelligence agency also mentions the British Council, declared today as an 'undesirable' organization. According to the FSB, the British Council 'is directly involved by the special services of the United Kingdom in confidential projects aimed at undermining the sovereignty of independent states. Its participation in secret operations of British intelligence services, disguised as providing assistance in conflict resolution, promoting young political leaders, and propagating Western non-traditional values, has been established'.
