In Kaliningrad, security forces visited well-known lawyers Maria Boncler, Ekaterina Selizarova, and Roman Morozov. According to the press service of the Yabloko party, of which Morozov is a member, Boncler is 'suspected' of treason, and in the 'premises inspection' order shown to Morozov, it was indicated that he was a 'partner' of lawyer Boncler.
Lawyers Boncler, Selizarova, and Morozov have been defending those who participated in protest actions, were accused of 'discrediting' and 'fake news' about the army, as well as 'crimes against the state' since the beginning of the war. All three are involved in the defense of Igor Baryshnikov, who is serving a 7.5-year sentence for spreading 'fake news' about the Russian army.
Maria Boncler herself was involved in an administrative offense case for 'discrediting' the army. The police found a violation directly in her court speeches: Boncler represented the interests of two participants in anti-war rallies and used the word 'war'.
In 2013, Boncler became a laureate of the Moscow Helsinki Group award in the field of human rights protection, for defending human rights in court.
Roman Morozov is preparing a petition to the regional court regarding the illegal conduct of the 'premises inspection', as well as the violation of attorney-client privilege.
