According to the publication, the country's Ministry of Defense stated that two Russian military aircraft are suspected of violating Finland's airspace. The Gulf of Finland Border Guard reported on the social network X that it has initiated a preliminary investigation into this incident.
The last time a Russian aircraft violated the country's airspace was in February. It was in the Gulf of Finland area west of Hanko for several minutes.
On Thursday evening, a Russian Su-24 bomber was performing dangerous maneuvers over the Baltic Sea in international airspace, reports the Polish broadcasting company TVP.
According to Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the country's air force intercepted and escorted the Russian military aircraft over the Baltic Sea. The order to intercept the Russian bomber was given by the joint operational command of NATO's combined armed forces in Europe.
