The FSB detained a 25-year-old man in Kaliningrad, accusing him of "preparing a terrorist attack" — an explosion on the route of the military parade column, state news agencies reported.

According to "RIA Novosti", the young man "voluntarily joined a terrorist organization banned in Russia and received an assignment to carry out a terrorist attack during the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War".

According to the security forces, the correspondence was conducted in Telegram. A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee under articles "on aiding terrorist and sabotage activities", he faces up to 20 years in prison. The court sent him to a pre-trial detention center.

On May 22, two teenagers, aged 17 and 14, were detained and sent to a pre-trial detention center in the Tver region. According to the FSB, they were "following the orders of a Ukrainian handler" and were preparing to set fire to one of the Ministry of Defense buildings ahead of Victory Day.

Earlier, nine people were detained in the Stavropol region, eight of them minors, suspected of preparing an attack on police officers on May 9.

A 29-year-old woman from Dagestan was also accused of attempting a terrorist attack on May 9. According to the FSB, she planned to detonate a homemade bomb near an administrative building of law enforcement agencies in Khasavyurt.
