Russian drone attacked a minibus evacuating people from border areas of the Sumy region

According to preliminary information, nine people died, seven were injured

UPD: The number of injured increased to seven, reported the State Emergency Service. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that among the deceased was a family: father, mother, and daughter.

 

Near the city of Bilopillya in the Sumy region, Russian forces attacked a passenger bus with a "Lancet" type drone. According to preliminary information, nine people died, and four more were injured, reported the head of the Sumy Regional State Administration, Oleh Hryhorov.

The bus, which was deliberately targeted by Russian military, was heading from Bilopillya towards Sumy. People on the bus were evacuating from border areas that are constantly under shelling. As reported to "Suspilne" by the head of the Bilopillya community, Yuriy Zarko, local authorities are currently identifying the deceased, and most of them are elderly women.

"This is not just another shelling — it is a cynical war crime, the Russian army once again struck a civilian object, disregarding all norms of international law and humanity," noted the National Police.

Within a day, Russian forces conducted 85 shellings on 31 settlements in the Sumy region. Private houses, a hotel, and a civilian infrastructure object were damaged.
