Alexey Gorinov showed signs of tuberculosis during the transfer

The defense requests to postpone the transfer, as Gorinov is missing part of a lung, and he may not survive tuberculosis

During the transfer at the Novosibirsk detention center, former Moscow municipal deputy Alexey Gorinov showed signs of tuberculosis. This was reported to "Novaya Gazeta" by the political prisoner's lawyer, Katerina Tertukhina. On May 10, her client was moved from the Vladimir detention center, and he is now in isolation in Novosibirsk.

According to the lawyer, during the transfer to the colony, her client fell ill. Gorinov told her that he hadn't slept for three nights, was experiencing nausea, weakness, cough, shortness of breath, and couldn't lift things. On the first day at the Novosibirsk detention center, a paramedic called an ambulance for the political prisoner, and he was given an X-ray. Doctors then discovered tuberculosis foci.

"Gorinov is being treated well, but there is nothing to treat him with. He was given medication, prescribed a special diet — additional oil, milk, and casserole. We are now asking to postpone the transfer. Gorinov is missing part of a lung, and tuberculosis is doubly dangerous for him; he may simply not survive the disease," said Tertukhina, adding that Gorinov is currently held alone in a cold cell, although he was supposed to be moved to a warm one after the visit.

Earlier, Gorinov wrote in a letter to the support group that he was transferred to the Novosibirsk detention center. "The mood is upbeat, but there is a suspicion of pneumonia. Of course, this is not a tourist trip, and the travel conditions are torturous," writes Gorinov.

Since July 2022, Alexey Gorinov has been serving a seven-year sentence under the article on "fake news" about the Russian army for proposing a minute of silence in memory of the victims of aggression in Ukraine at a meeting of deputies of the Krasnoselsky district of Moscow. In November 2024, Gorinov was sentenced to three years in a maximum-security colony under a new criminal case — for "public justification of terrorism."

Gorinov is 63 years old, and his lawyers have reported a significant deterioration in his health condition in the colony. In 2016, the politician had part of a lung removed due to a chronic illness.
