The investigation into Leonid Volkov's* case in Russia proposed to summon "Biden Joseph Ivanovich" to court

The criminal case contains 45 episodes, in addition to the accusation of "money laundering," with which it began

Politician Leonid Volkov reported that in the indictment, which consists of 1521 pages, the investigation proposes to summon 344 people to court, including "Biden Joseph Ivanovich."

"Reading the indictment: it has 1251 pages (and an additional 123-page report), more than 500 thousand words. Veterans say it's an absolute record. In Russian courts, as you know, the indictment is used like this: the judge takes it on a flash drive, changes the words in the header to "VERDICT" and announces it. Let's bet: will the judge spend more or less than 20 minutes in the deliberation room working on a 1250-page verdict?" he wrote in his Telegram channel.

Meanwhile, in August 2019, the case was opened in connection with "money laundering by FBK**." The Investigative Committee then stated that in fact, the entire crowdfunding was "laundering" of certain obviously criminal funds. And on this basis, a criminal case was initiated. "And now almost 6 years have passed. 'The investigation is over.' There is an impressive list of articles. But... let's read carefully: which article is missing among them? Correct, Article 174 of the Criminal Code. The 'laundering' was not confirmed..." wrote Volkov, noting that it was on the basis of this article that hundreds of phones and computers were seized, and thousands of bank accounts of FBK employees and volunteers were blocked.

As Volkov writes, the investigation summoned the prosecution witness "Biden Joseph Ivanovich" to court, but it is not stated how his appearance is proposed to be ensured.

The criminal case against Volkov, containing 45 episodes, including "fraud," "justification of terrorism," and dissemination of "fakes," was submitted to the Moscow military court in April. According to Volkov, the case consists of 294 volumes.
