A new criminal case has been initiated against journalist Tatyana Felgengauer under the article on 'calls for terrorism', reported RIA 'Novosti' citing a source in law enforcement agencies.
'A criminal case has been initiated against Tatyana Felgengauer under part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls for terrorist activities, committed using the internet),' said the agency's interlocutor. The reason for the criminal prosecution under this article is unknown.
In September 2024, it became known about a criminal case against Tatyana Felgengauer under the article on failing to fulfill the duties of a 'foreign agent'.
In December, the Nikulinsky District Court of Moscow arrested the journalist in absentia. The investigation's petition for the in absentia arrest states that 'choosing a more lenient preventive measure is impossible, as Felgengauer is hiding from the investigation, which provides grounds to believe that she is currently continuing her criminal activities'.
* Recognized as a 'foreign agent' in Russia.
