Ten servicemen, who were previously convicted of serious charges, escaped from a military training ground in the Rostov region before being sent to Ukraine, reports the portal 161.ru citing its sources.
The escape of former prisoners who signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense occurred on the night of May 8 to 9. Four of them were detained on the first day while leaving the region, the publication specifies. The military personnel were preparing at the training ground for dispatch to Ukraine, but on the morning of May 9, they did not come to the unit to receive equipment. They did not have weapons with them.
Among the escapees were those convicted of serious charges: robbery, murder, drug distribution, and others.
Less than a month ago, a major military escape occurred in the Krasnodar region. There, about a hundred people, already detained for desertion, attempted to escape from the unit. Seven managed to leave the commandant's office, and they were later detained.
