Due to a hearing aid, he mistook her for a Ukrainian spy and beat her to death

The 1st Western District Military Court sentenced 29-year-old cadet of the Military Space Academy, Nikolai Tikhonov, to 10 years in a strict regime penal colony for murder, reported «Mediazona»* at the military court's reception.

In September 2024, Tikhonov met 41-year-old Nadezhda at a nightclub. They went to Tikhonov's place, and when they were alone, the cadet «noticed a strange object in Nadezhda's ear that made noises and rustling», wrote Baza. He mistook her hearing aid for a recording device. The guy remembered that the night before, Nadezhda had asked him about his service and studies at the academy. He concluded that the woman was a Ukrainian spy working for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Before the murder, the guy called the police and reported that he «invited a girl over, but she turned out not to be a girl, but a 'khokhol' and someone unclear». Then he beat her to death. The arriving police found a drunk cadet and a beaten woman. The medics who arrived could not save the woman — she died from her injuries.

Channel «78» reported that Tikhonov had previously served in the military under contract. Whether he participated in combat was not specified. The man was married twice and has a six-year-old child. According to journalists, he «systematically beat his ex-wives».

The court sentenced him for murder — 10 years in a strict regime penal colony. Exactly the same sentence was given by the Novosibirsk Regional Court to local resident Sergey Kondakov for arson of a relay cabinet, ordering him to compensate for the damage from the arson, which was estimated at 575 thousand rubles. No one was harmed.
