In Novokuznetsk, a teenager planning to set off an explosion at a military enlistment office was detained, reported RIA "Novosti" with reference to the FSB department for Kuzbass. The identity of the detainee is not disclosed.
"Operational-search measures conducted by the FSB of Russia for the Kemerovo region — Kuzbass identified a minor resident of the region, who, out of selfish motives, conspired with a representative of the terrorist organization Legion "Freedom of Russia"* to commit a terrorist act by detonating an IED on the territory of the military commissariat of the city of Novokuznetsk in order to destabilize the activities of state authorities in the Kemerovo region," the press service of the department reported.
A criminal case was initiated against the teenager under the article "Preparation for a terrorist act". The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention.
According to "OVD-Info"**, last year politically motivated criminal cases were initiated against at least 4 minors, the youngest of whom was 14 years old at the time. Human rights activists note that cases under terrorist articles, including against teenagers, are classified, and there is critically little information about the progress of the investigation and the charges, which does not allow them to be reliably qualified as politically motivated. However, in most cases, the charges are based solely on the testimonies of security service officers.
