He is accused of passing a scientific work to a colleague in the USA back in 2013

63-year-old associate professor of the National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, Yuri Lutsenko, became a suspect in a criminal case of 'treason', reported ASTRA*. The case was initiated back in March, but it was only discovered now.

The reason for the criminal prosecution was the exchange of scientific information. According to the investigation, in 2013, Lutsenko allegedly sent one of his scientific works to Doctor of Philosophy in the field of plasma and high-temperature physics, Igor Matveev, a native of Ukraine who at that time lived in the USA and was the president of the company Applied Plasma Technologies, based in the Washington area.

As noted by ASTRA, Lutsenko's current whereabouts are unknown, he did not answer calls, and the Polytechnic University also remains silent. On the social network 'VKontakte', it is indicated that Lutsenko was last online on March 3, 2025.
