Late in the evening of April 2, Russian troops massively attacked Kharkiv with drones. As a result of the shelling, there is significant damage in the city, and the number of injured has reached nearly 50 people.
In various locations in the city, 17 explosions were recorded, fires broke out — private and multi-apartment residential buildings, warehouses, industrial facilities, vehicles, and infrastructure caught fire, rescuers reported.
«Almost fifty people were injured as a result of the massive attack by the occupiers. Among them is an 11-year-old child. Currently, 8 injured people are in hospitals in a moderate condition,» wrote the head of the regional military administration, Oleh Synehubov, on his Telegram channel. Later, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov clarified that eight people were hospitalized in moderate condition.
«There were no military targets and there could not be any. Russia strikes residential areas precisely when Ukrainians are at home, when they are putting their children to sleep. Only inhumans can give and execute such orders. While the world hesitates with decisions, almost every night in Ukraine turns into horror, resulting in lost lives. Ukraine needs enhanced air defense. Strong and real decisions are needed from our partners: the United States, Europe, all our partners who want peace. Only strength and sanctions will make Russia stop,» wrote Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
