The first was charged with "treason" and "sabotage," sentenced to 20 years in prison, the second — upon admitting guilt under the article on "terrorism," was given 12 years

The Yaroslavl Regional Court sentenced 23-year-old Evgeny Ermilov to 20 years in a high-security colony, accused of "treason" and "sabotage," reported "Mediazona"* citing the court's press service. He was also given a year of restricted freedom after release from the colony and was ordered to pay Russian Railways 497 thousand rubles as compensation for damages.

According to the prosecution, in May 2024, a resident of Yaroslavl began communicating with a "Ukrainian intelligence officer," who instructed him to set fire to a relay cabinet, promising to pay 30 thousand rubles.

On May 18, the young man bought gasoline and used it to set fire to a relay cabinet on the Yaroslavl–Dunayka section of the Northern Railway. He filmed the fire and sent the recording to the client. However, as noted in court, Ermilov was never paid the reward. Along with the actual sentence, the Yaroslavl resident was given a year of restricted freedom after release from the colony and was also ordered to pay Russian Railways 497 thousand rubles as compensation for damages.

Today, the 1st Western District Military Court sentenced 20-year-old resident of Veliky Novgorod, Mikhail Golik, to 12 years in prison in the case of setting fire to a relay cabinet, reported "Mediazona." The first three years he must spend in prison, and the remainder of the term — in a high-security colony. Golik fully admitted his guilt and refused to testify in court, citing Article 51 of the Constitution.

According to the investigation, on the night of April 17, 2024, the young man doused a relay cabinet on the railway with motor oil and lighter fluid and set it on fire. He was charged with committing a terrorist act. The investigation explained the arson by stating that Golik "disagreed with the internal and external policies conducted by the authorities of the Russian Federation."
