FSB detained a suspect in the murder of the Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalyk

«As a result of urgent measures, Ukrainian special services agent Ignat Kuzin, born in 1983, who has a residence permit in Ukraine, was detained. He planted an explosive device in a Volkswagen Golf car in Balashikha, Moscow Region, resulting in the death of the Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalyk, born in 1966», — TASS quotes the agency's release.

The agency, citing its sources, also reported that, according to the investigation, Kuzin himself bought the car in which he installed a homemade explosive device. He retrieved its components from a cache «equipped by Ukrainian special services in the Moscow Region».

The explosion was carried out remotely on April 25, when Moskalyk exited the building and was passing by the car.

«The detainee was taken to the Investigative Committee for investigative actions within the framework of the criminal case initiated under the articles «terrorist act» and «illegal possession of explosives», — reported the special service.

Earlier, the media reported that after Moskalyk's murder, suspect Ignat Kuzin managed to fly to Turkey. According to the VChK-OGPU telegram channel*, it was there that he was detained and then handed over to Russia.
