As stated by the Ministry of Justice, Vasya Oblomov 'spread false information about the decisions made by the public authorities of the Russian Federation and their policies, opposed the special military operation in Ukraine', and also interacted with 'foreign agents'.
Former TASS correspondent in Iran, author of the Telegram channel 'Duty Officer in Iran' Nikita Smagin also, according to the agency, spread 'false information', opposed the war, and interacted with 'undesirable' organizations. The same claims led to the inclusion of St. Petersburg poet Dmitry Chernyshov in the registry.
Co-chair of the organization 'EcoDefense' Vladimir Slivyak, in addition to the standard 'discrediting' of Russian authorities and anti-war stance, 'formed a negative image' of the Russian Armed Forces. The Ministry of Justice has the same claims against the founder of the newspaper 'People's Journalist' Konstantin Susolkin, who was also accused of 'support from a foreign source'.
A separate claim by the Ministry of Justice against all 'foreign agents' this Friday is living outside the Russian Federation.
The unified registry of 'foreign agents' has been maintained since December 1, 2022, and includes individuals, registered and unregistered non-profit and non-governmental organizations. The registry contains nearly a thousand entries.
'Foreign agents' are required to publish texts and messages with a notification that they are made by a 'foreign agent'. Fines are provided for evading the duties of a 'foreign agent', and repeated violations of the law lead to criminal liability. By the end of 2024, 170 people received two fines each under the administrative article on violating the order of 'foreign agent' activities. The State Duma passed a law prohibiting advertising with 'foreign agents', and 'foreign agents' themselves are banned from participating in elections. Also, all income of 'foreign agents' in Russia, including the sale and rental of real estate, will be deposited into a special ruble account, which can only be accessed after the status of 'foreign agent' is removed.
