LLC 'Syngenta' has been recognized as a victim in the case on behalf of the beneficiary — the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of China

The company 'Syngenta', recognized as a victim in the criminal case of embezzlement against the founder of the 'Rusagro' group Vadim Moshkovich, filed a civil lawsuit against him for 999,360,920 rubles and 89 kopecks, reports 'Interfax' with reference to the statement of the company's representative in court on the appeal against the businessman’s arrest.

LLC 'Syngenta' is the Russian subsidiary of the corporation Syngenta AG, registered in Switzerland. In 2017, the owner of Syngenta became the Chinese state-owned chemical corporation ChemChina.

According to its report, the company operates in the sector of wholesale trade of imported goods: plant protection products, wholesale trade of vegetable seeds, sunflower, and grain crops. According to media reports, at the time of the transaction for the purchase of 'Rusagro' shares in the holding 'Sunny Products', which is related to Moshkovich's criminal case, the company was one of the creditors of 'Sunny Products'.

'Syngenta' is recognized as a victim in the case on behalf of the beneficiary — the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of China. According to the company's representative, the defendant has not yet taken actions to compensate for the damage.

The representative of the state prosecution, in turn, stated that the investigation is currently obtaining evidence of Moshkovich's involvement in committing other crimes besides those already charged against him, writes the agency.

At the end of March, Moshkovich was charged with large-scale fraud and organizing abuse of power. He does not admit guilt.

According to the prosecution, in 2018 'Rusagro' acquired the holding 'Sunny Products' from the former owner Vladislav Burov. According to the terms of the deal, Burov was supposed to remain a co-owner and become a member of the board of directors. However, according to the investigation and Burov himself, on whose statement the case was initiated, a 'raider takeover' occurred, and the former owner could not contest this in court. The damage in the case was estimated at more than 30 billion rubles.
