State media have already labeled him as part of a «cell of left-wing radicals-Trotskyists» with a «management center in the UK»

The Vasileostrovsky District Court of St. Petersburg arrested a student from the Electrotechnical University, Stepan Timofeev, for three days under a protocol for organizing an unauthorized action, the city's court press service reported. The reason for the administrative case was the action «Science is Dead».

According to law enforcement, on March 24, Timofeev and SPbU student Artyom Pronko hung a mannequin of Minerva by the leg of the monument to Count Uvarov near the Twelve Collegia building. Meanwhile, activists of the «URA» movement, who claimed responsibility for the action, told «Bumaga»* that neither Pronko nor Timofeev are associated with them. According to Timofeev's lawyer, Veronika Karagodina, quoted by «Rotonda», the students' guilt was proven with video recordings where «faces were not visible at all».

Meanwhile, RIA «Novosti», citing sources in law enforcement agencies, managed to write that the students are involved with a «cell of left-wing radicals-Trotskyists» with a «management center in the UK».

The hearing on Pronko's protocol was postponed until May.
