On the morning of April 16, Ukrainian drones attacked the city of Shuya in the Ivanovo region, reported the regional operational headquarters. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that seven drones were shot down there, the total number launched is unknown.
As a result of falling debris, two people were injured and are receiving medical assistance, local authorities specified. Baza writes that a residential building on Yuzhnaya Street was damaged by fragments.
During the drone raid, authorities asked Shuya residents to stay indoors, and the military blocked General Belov Street from Protochny Lane to Sverdlova Street with "heavy equipment," writes Astra*.
In the Yuzhny Gorodok area of Shuya, the 112th Guards Missile Brigade is stationed, which the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, accused of strikes on Sumy on Palm Sunday, April 13. It is armed with Iskander-M operational-tactical missile systems.
According to Astra, local public pages write that the missile brigade's base was the target of the drones.
In addition to the Ivanovo region, Russian military reported nine drones shot down in the Voronezh region, eight in Belgorod, four in Kursk, two in Lipetsk, and one each in Tula, Ryazan, and Moscow regions.
