On the night of April 15, Ukrainian drones massively attacked Kursk, damaging multi-story residential buildings, and killing an 85-year-old woman. Nine people were injured by shrapnel, according to the regional operations headquarters. The Ministry of Defense reported in the morning briefing that 109 Ukrainian drones were "intercepted and destroyed" over the Kursk region.
Authorities confirmed eyewitness reports of fires in multi-story residential buildings. Residents of three buildings were evacuated to temporary accommodation centers. In one building, the 8th and 9th floors were damaged by fire, in another, there was a fire on five floors, and in yet another—on one floor. The Kursk region government also reported damage to three private houses. One of the attacks also hit a garage with ambulances, damaging 11 vehicles.
As specified by the Ministry of Defense, Ukrainian drones were also shot down over the territories of Moscow, Voronezh, Bryansk, and Oryol regions.
