The Sormovsky District Court of Nizhny Novgorod sentenced two young people to 2.5 years in a general regime colony for a video with 'fakes' about the Russian army, the regional Investigative Committee reported. The director of the lyceum where they studied filed a report against them.
As ASTRA* found out, the director complained that an email with a video featuring the lyceum's high school students was sent to the educational institution's email. In the video, they allegedly discussed Ukraine, Russia, school teachers, and criticized the Russian army. The teenagers recorded the video in their own kitchen and posted it on a Telegram channel with 26 subscribers.
In November 2023, they were issued protocols for 'discrediting' the Russian army, and in August 2024, a criminal case was initiated against them for the same video. According to the investigation, in October 2023, the high school students made a video claiming that Russian troops were attacking schools, shopping centers, and civilians in Ukraine, and also blew up the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs, FSB, and Rosgvardiya detained the 18-year-old youths and sent them to a pre-trial detention center, now sentenced to a real term.
