The son of Ramzan Kadyrov, 17-year-old Adam Kadyrov, was appointed curator of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Chechen Republic, Chechen state media reported. The appointment was announced at a meeting of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Chechnya, and Adam immediately appointed a new head of the operational-search unit of the internal security department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Chechnya, as well as awarded "distinguished police officers."
In 2023, 15-year-old at the time Adam Kadyrov beat 19-year-old Nikita Zhuravel in a pre-trial detention center on camera, who was accused of burning the Quran in Volgograd. Kadyrov posted the video with the caption "Beat him and did the right thing," and later stated that "it would have been good if he had killed him there on the spot."
Human rights activists demanded that Adam Kadyrov be held accountable, but the authorities stated that they could not do this because of his age. However, his young age did not prevent him from being given positions in the leadership of the republic. Adam was awarded the title of Hero of Chechnya, and the heads of Tatarstan, Karachay-Cherkessia, and Kabardino-Balkaria awarded him high orders of their republics. Over a year and a half, he was awarded 17 medals.
After this, Adam Kadyrov headed the security department of the head of the Chechen Republic, became the curator of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation's battalion named after Sheikh Mansur and the National Guard's battalion named after Baysangur Benoevsky. In 2024, Adam was appointed curator of the Russian Special Forces University named after Vladimir Putin in Gudermes.
