He was accused of gathering information about defense industry facilities and their products 'on the orders of a Ukrainian handler'

The Yaroslavl Regional Court sentenced 29-year-old welder from Rybinsk, Vladislav Marov, to 16 years in a maximum-security colony in a case of gathering data for Ukraine, the regional prosecutor's office reported. Additionally, he was given a year of restricted freedom.

According to the FSB, Marov, while working at a defense enterprise, collected information about defense industry facilities 'on the orders of a Ukrainian handler.' The court established that Marov, 'being opposed to the special military operation, proactively contacted a representative of the Ukrainian organization 'ATESH,' which is recognized as a 'terrorist' organization in Russia.

According to the investigation, Marov offered to provide information about the products manufactured, including those for military purposes under state defense orders, the location and purpose of restricted areas located on secured territory, in exchange for a reward. The amount of the reward was to be determined later, depending on the importance and quality of the information provided.

The prosecution also claims that the welder photographed production buildings in the region, indicating their coordinates, and informed the 'Ukrainian handler' about targets at factories, strikes on which would lead to downtime of enterprises. For this, he was supposed to receive a reward, but, as the authorities claim, the money was never transferred to the man.
