UPD: By the morning of March 25, the Sumy regional military administration reported that the number of injured had increased to 101 people. 78 adults and 23 children sought medical help. «Currently, 14 adults and 16 children are in the hospital. One adult and one child are in a stable serious condition», clarified the RMA.
Russian troops launched a missile strike on the center of the city of Sumy, damaging several multi-story buildings and a school. According to preliminary data, 28 people were injured, including four children. The school and residential buildings were hit. Firefighters are currently extinguishing the fires.
According to the head of the regional military administration, Volodymyr Artyukh, the children were in a protected structure, «they are now being evacuated, all are safe and sound». In residential buildings and the school, windows were shattered, and roofs and walls were damaged.
Rescuers are conducting a survey of the multi-story buildings to assist the injured people.
Local journalists note that there was no air raid alert in Sumy at the time of the strike.
On the night of March 24, Russia launched 147 UAVs over Ukraine. Air defense forces managed to shoot down 97 «Shaheds», and another 25 decoy drones were locally lost.
