A major failure has been recorded in the Russian segment of the internet — users are massively reporting difficulties accessing popular sites and services, and disruptions in the operation of mobile operators, streaming services, social networks, VPN services, and other resources, with the largest number of complaints coming from Siberia and the Urals.
Roskomnadzor commented on the situation, stating that the disruptions are related to the "use of foreign server infrastructure, where technical failures have been recorded." However, the details of the incident and possible timelines for restoring stable internet operation are not yet specified. "We recommend domestic organizations use the capacities of Russian hosting providers," the agency added.
At the same time, problems have arisen with all Russian communication operators, Rostelecom, "VKontakte," and even Gosuslugi.
Last fall, Roskomnadzor already blocked many CloudFlare services with the Encrypted Client Hello technology, which allowed bypassing restrictions, and in February, added the company to the list of information dissemination organizers, thereby obliging the service to provide Russia with data about its clients.
