22 heavily wounded servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also returned to Kyiv

The parties exchanged 175 people each. First, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported this, then it was confirmed by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. This is one of the largest exchanges.

In addition, 22 heavily wounded servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine returned to Kyiv. The day before, Vladimir Putin, after a phone conversation with Donald Trump, promised that as part of a “gesture of goodwill” from Moscow, 23 wounded Ukrainian soldiers would be sent to Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelensky reported that among them are severely wounded and servicemen “whom Russia persecuted for imaginary crimes.”

Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Navy, National Guard, Territorial Defense Forces, and Border Service, who fought in Mariupol, at “Azovstal,” in Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Sumy regions, and were captured in the Kursk region, returned to Ukraine, Zelensky clarified.

The Russian Ministry of Defense clarified that Russian servicemen are in Belarus.

Both sides thanked the UAE for participating in organizing the exchange.
