Donald Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One that on Tuesday he will discuss with Vladimir Putin issues of a peace agreement on Ukraine, noting that over the weekend «a lot of work was done», reported Reuters and Associated Press.
«We want to see if we can put an end to this war. Maybe we can, maybe not, but I think we have a very good chance», — said Trump.
Answering a question about what concessions are being considered in the ceasefire negotiations, Trump stated that he will talk to Putin about land and power plants. Most likely, it is about the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. «I think a lot of this is already being discussed by both sides, Ukraine and Russia. We are already talking about this, about the division of certain assets», — stated Trump.
Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff recently visited Moscow to advance the negotiations, and earlier on Sunday he stated that a call between Trump and Putin could take place soon.
