UPD: The court sentenced Postnikov to 14 days in jail, now for repeated offenses under this article he faces criminal prosecution with a real term of up to four years.
In Nizhny Tagil, a new protocol was drawn up against the editor-in-chief of the Ural publication «Vechernie Vedomosti» Vladislav Postnikov, who had served 14 days in jail, the publication reported.
The journalist was in custody in the detention center for an old 2021 post with the logo of Alexei Navalny's headquarters*, in which he talked about the appearance of fake videos allegedly from supporters of the politician, urging people not to vote in the State Duma elections. At that time, a protocol was drawn up against Postnikov for «displaying the symbols of an extremist organization».
According to the journalist's lawyer, a new administrative case was initiated under the same article, and a court hearing is scheduled for today. Now he is charged with a 2021 post about a Communist Party rally attended by activists of «Another Russia E.V. Limonov»* and a 2020 post about the opening of Navalny's headquarters.
«This is a classic example of an endless administrative «carousel», where police officers have already «identified violations», but charge them gradually, not as a single whole, thus preventing the person from leaving the detention center for months», lawyer Georgy Krasnov told «Vechernie Vedomosti».
Vladislav Postnikov is the editor-in-chief of the independent publication «Vechernie Vedomosti», which the court fined a total of one million rubles for covering anti-war rallies and the consequences of the war.
