The Prosecutor General's Office declared the Danish research center Rasmussen Global, created by former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, an 'undesirable' organization.
As stated in the agency's press release, the organization conducts 'anti-Russian activities' and also 'prioritizes securing Ukraine in the so-called orbit of influence of the Western coalition countries.' The Center 'urges the West to confiscate frozen Russian assets and deploy a NATO military contingent on Ukrainian territory,' the Prosecutor General's Office stated.
Rasmussen himself, according to the agency, is 'a big fan of Ukrainian nationalists' who 'focused on information attacks against Russia.'
Danish politician and former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen founded Rasmussen Global in 2014. According to the organization's website, it advises clients on international relations and public policy. In addition, the center works with the team of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky 'on issues of security guarantees and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine.' Rasmussen Global, together with the head of the Ukrainian President's office Andriy Yermak, developed a plan in 2022 to provide security guarantees to Ukraine, which formed the basis of the G7 countries' declaration at the NATO summit in Vilnius in 2023.
The register of 'undesirable' organizations has been maintained in Russia since 2015. Foreign or international organizations that, according to the authorities, pose 'a threat to the foundations of the constitutional order of the Russian Federation, the country's defense capability, or state security' can be recognized as 'undesirable.' Such organizations are prohibited from operating on Russian territory.
