Ukraine agreed to the US proposal for an immediate temporary ceasefire lasting 30 days. However, Russia must first agree to the ceasefire.

«Ukraine has expressed its readiness to accept the US proposal for the immediate introduction of a temporary, 30-day ceasefire regime, which can be extended by mutual agreement of the parties, provided that the Russian Federation accepts and simultaneously implements it. The United States will inform Russia that reciprocity from Russia is key to achieving peace», — says the statement published on the website of the President of Ukraine, following the meeting of the Ukrainian and American delegations in Saudi Arabia.

In addition, the parties agreed to conclude a comprehensive agreement on the development of Ukraine's critical mineral resources as soon as possible, the statement said.

On the US side, the delegation included Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump's envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, and National Security Advisor Michael Waltz. On the Ukrainian side — Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga, Deputy Head of the President's Office Pavlo Palisa, and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. Volodymyr Zelensky is on an official visit to Saudi Arabia but did not participate in the negotiations.

The US emphasized that Russia's response will be key to achieving peace.

The delegations agreed to immediately start negotiations on Ukraine's long-term security, while the US will discuss these proposals with Russia. Ukraine also proposed involving European partners in the peace process.

Bloomberg and CBS, citing their sources, claim that after these negotiations, President Trump's special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff plans to visit Russia this week.
