Elon Musk spoke about the backbone of the Ukrainian army and stated that sanctions against Ukrainian oligarchs are needed to end the war

American billionaire and DOGE leader Elon Musk stated that the Ukrainian front would collapse if he turned off his Starlink satellite communication systems.

«I literally challenged Putin to a duel over Ukraine, and my Starlink system is the backbone of the Ukrainian army. Their entire front line would collapse if I turned it off.

I am sick of the years-long slaughter in a stalemate situation that Ukraine will inevitably lose», — Musk wrote on the social network X.

Additionally, the billionaire stated that the war would allegedly stop if sanctions were imposed against Ukrainian oligarchs, once again shifting the responsibility for Russian aggression onto Ukraine itself. «Impose sanctions against the 10 largest Ukrainian oligarchs, especially those who have mansions in Monaco, and it will stop immediately», — Musk reported.

Starlink has become an important asset for the Ukrainian military in the war with Russia, after part of the communication infrastructure was disabled. Although many Ukrainian Starlink terminals are funded by Europe, tensions between Washington and Kyiv raise concerns that access to satellite communications might be cut off. Although this has not happened yet, the question of the future of Starlink in Ukraine has become relevant again amid the suspension of US military aid. According to Reuters, during negotiations on a minerals agreement, the American side even hinted at the possibility of disconnecting Ukraine from the network.

Amid this, discussions about the work of the company Eutelsat in Ukraine have intensified, after which the shares of the French satellite provider soared. By Wednesday at the market close, shares had risen by 533% compared to the beginning of the week. With this increase, the company's value is 4.02 billion dollars.
