The case involved Ukrainian «curators», who chose Putin's headquarters as the target for the «terrorist act», which was never set on fire

The 2nd Eastern District Military Court announced the verdict for three residents of the Novosibirsk region, accused of attempting to set fire to Vladimir Putin's election headquarters before the presidential «elections», reported «Mediazona»* citing the court's press service.

23-year-old Sergey Dementyev, 26-year-old Artem Zhilenkov, and 19-year-old Dmitry Rodkin were found guilty of «attempted terrorist act». The longest sentence was given to Dementyev — 18 years of imprisonment. Zhilenkov was sentenced to 17 years, and Rodkin — to 16.

The first three years of imprisonment the young men must spend in prison, the remaining term — in a strict regime colony. They were also given two years of restricted freedom.

According to the investigation, Dementyev at an unspecified time contacted a representative of the Legion «Freedom of Russia»** and informed him «of his readiness to commit terrorist acts». The «curator» chose Putin's campaign headquarters and tasked them with gathering all information and making homemade incendiary devices to set it on fire. The young men did not manage to set fire to the headquarters as they were detained by FSB officers.

The special service reported the detention of the residents of the Novosibirsk region in March 2024, stating that they had made five Molotov cocktails.
