U.S. President Donald Trump will hold a meeting today with his top national security aides, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, writes The New York Times.
A representative of the Trump administration said that the meeting plans to consider and possibly take action on a number of policy options regarding Ukraine. Among them is the suspension or cancellation of American military aid to Ukraine, including the latest deliveries of ammunition and equipment authorized and paid for during the Biden administration, one of the publication's sources said.
Meanwhile, FBI Director Kash Patel asked the U.S. Congress to investigate the use of "hundreds of billions of dollars" directed to Ukraine. "I asked Congress to investigate where this money went. The American people deserve an answer because it's our funds. These are our taxpayers' dollars. And there are many really compelling reasons for concern because Ukraine was known as a place of corruption, a place of money laundering. We didn't send a billion dollars, we sent a hundred times more to one country. I don't know how Congress was allowed to do this," he said in an interview with The Epoch Times.
