A resident of Khanty-Mansiysk was fined 70 thousand for calls to exclude KhMAO from Russia

2025.03.03

This was qualified as calls for separatism, previously he was fined for "discrediting" the army and "inciting hatred"

The court of Khanty-Mansiysk found Ilya Fattakhov guilty of calling for the exclusion of KhMAO from Russia and fined him 70 thousand rubles, reports "Siberia.Realii"*. The reason was that in response to a comment by a city resident on social media about the cessation of free medicine distribution to diabetics, Fattakhov wrote that a referendum on the region's separation should be held.

"In general, I would remove the district from Russia, hold a referendum, and that's it. This is our land, our resources by right, plus we are an autonomous district with our own flag and official anthem," wrote Fattakhov.

Fattakhov was first fined 2 thousand rubles in 2024 in a case of demonstrating extremist symbols for posting a video about the "Ukrainian Insurgent Army," which operated during World War II. Later, the court fined him 30 thousand rubles in a case of "discrediting" for posts about anti-war rallies in Russia.

The court saw "propaganda of hatred and enmity towards Russians" in comments on "VKontakte," where Fattakhov argued with another user about the military invasion of Ukraine, the preparedness of the Russian army, and Russian policy in general. He called the residents of Russia "a nation of drug addicts, slaves, and homeless people," and also called for violence against them. Fattakhov admitted his guilt and repented, and the court fined him 10 thousand rubles.
