UPD: Trump released a statement on his social network Truth, stating that Zelensky is not ready for peace and showed disrespect to the USA in the Oval Office. «Let him come back when he's ready», — wrote Trump.
During the meeting in the Oval Office of the White House, US Vice President JD Vance decided to tell the President of Ukraine what is happening in his country, while also once again comparing Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
«For four years we had a president who stood at press conferences and talked about Putin. And Putin attacked Ukraine and destroyed much of the country», — stated Vance, adding that now Trump is showing «real actions» to end the war.
In response, Zelensky asked the vice president what diplomacy could help end Russia's war against Ukraine when the Russians repeatedly violated ceasefire commitments. And the war continued since 2014, when Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and Joe Biden were in power in the USA. He also advised the vice president to visit Ukraine to better understand the situation.
Donald Trump also voiced his understanding of the situation in raised tones.
Trump: You are not in a position to tell us. You are not in that position, you have no cards in your hands. You are gambling with World War Three.
Zelensky: May I say, Mr. President?
Trump: No, you've already said a lot. You should be grateful to this country. Your country has big problems. This foolish president gave you $350 billion. We want to save your country and stop the war. You can't say — «I don't want to stop the war». Without us, you have no strong cards in your hands.
Zelensky: I didn't come here to play cards.
In a few minutes, Trump managed to accuse Zelensky of ingratitude, absence, and unwillingness to cease fire. «If you didn't have our weapons and equipment, this war would have ended in two weeks», — stated Trump. «I heard from Putin about three days, and now — two weeks», — replied Zelensky.
The President of Ukraine reminded that this has happened before and without guarantees such an agreement will lead to nothing, as «there should be no compromises with a murderer». As reported by «RBC-Ukraine», the President of Ukraine brought photographs of Ukrainian prisoners of war after Russian captivity, showing how Russia treats any agreements and international legal norms.
