Now the student is being investigated for 'discrediting' the Russian Armed Forces for suggesting to honor the memory of those who died on both sides on the anniversary of the invasion

Elena Podolskaya, the principal of Gymnasium No. 14 in Severodvinsk, contacted the police because of a pacifist note left on February 24 in the women's restroom, reported Astra*. The message was made in the form of a sheet with a pocket containing nine wax candles and a note.

"Exactly three years have passed since Russia's invasion of Ukraine. During this time, a huge number of people on both sides have died for nothing. I urge those who are reading this now to honor the memory of those who died on the front line (on both sides) and political prisoners killed in prisons. Not for show, but simply of your own free will. Come home, light a candle. I cannot physically provide everyone with them, but it is at least something. And that is the main thing, the main thing is not to give up and continue to fight for a peaceful Russia. Because even such a small thing can help someone get through this difficult period. Remember, you are not alone," the note said.

According to the publication, the principal of the gymnasium reported this to the police. Law enforcement officers seized the sheet, envelope, and candles, and also requested footage from surveillance cameras. The student who left the note is now being investigated for 'discrediting' the Russian Armed Forces.
