The 2nd Western District Military Court sentenced a resident of Domodedovo, Moscow region, to 16 years of imprisonment and a fine of 150 thousand rubles in a case of preparing a terrorist attack and filming an air defense complex in Podolsk, the regional Investigative Committee reported. The accused was found guilty under articles on preparing for a terrorist attack, arms smuggling, aiding terrorism, illegal acquisition, storage, and manufacture of weapons, ammunition, and explosives.
According to the investigation, on April 11, 2024, the man recorded the coordinates and filmed the location of an anti-aircraft missile-gun air defense complex in the urban district of Domodedovo, and then sent this data to a 'Ukrainian public'. Investigators believe his goal was 'military targeting of UAVs and striking a military object'. In a video after his arrest, the man repeats the charges, admitting his guilt.
At the same time, law enforcement claims that back in 2017, the resident of the Moscow region illegally transported weapons from Ukraine to Russia, which he stored at his home, and then manufactured ammunition for it, preparing for terrorist attacks on military and civilian targets in the Moscow, Bryansk, and Belgorod regions.
