He voiced the idea of creating a unified European army, as the US is not interested in military support for European allies

During his speech at the Munich conference, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the security issues of Europe, which, in his opinion, faces a real threat from Russia. He warned that Ukrainian intelligence has accurate data on Russia's plans to send troops to Belarus this summer under the guise of exercises.

«We have accurate intelligence data that this summer Russia plans to send troops to Belarus under the guise of exercises. These troops in Belarus could attack Ukraine. Or maybe they are intended for you. Let me remind you, Belarus borders three NATO countries. It has become a springboard for Russian military operations», — Zelensky reported.

Currently, the Russian army is suffering colossal losses, according to Ukraine, 250,000 Russian military personnel are killed, 610,000 — wounded, in the Kursk region, Russia's irretrievable losses are 20,000 people. However, the authorities do not intend to stop recruiting new servicemen. According to Zelensky, Russia plans to create 15 new divisions this year and opens new military recruitment centers every week, while Russian troops may use exercises in Belarus as a pretext for an attack, acting under a false flag and without identification marks.

The President of Ukraine also stated the need to create an independent European army to mitigate the possible refusal of US military support. It is not only about increasing defense spending as a percentage of GDP. Money alone will not stop an enemy attack; motivated and experienced people are needed. «Without the Ukrainian army, European armies will not be enough to stop Russia. Only our army in Europe has real, modern combat experience. But our army alone is also not enough», — he noted.

Zelensky also touched on the topic of a peace agreement with Russia, stating that Donald Trump in conversation with him «never said that Europe needs a place at the negotiating table». He also added that Ukraine will never accept agreements made without its participation: «If we are not allowed to participate in negotiations about our future, we will all lose».
