The mother of four minor children was also charged with 'participation in the activities of a terrorist community'

The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced 34-year-old resident of the Russian-occupied Mariupol district, Anastasia Todurova*, to 14 years in a general regime colony, reported 'Mediazona'**. The woman was also fined 500 thousand rubles and sentenced to one and a half years of restricted freedom.

The mother of four minor children was found guilty on four counts — 'treason', 'terrorism', 'participation in a terrorist community', and 'illegal trafficking of explosives'.

Todurova lived in a small urban-type settlement Yalta in the Donetsk region, 25 kilometers from Mariupol. As in many other cases in the Russian-occupied territories, nothing is known about the place and date of Todurova's arrest. The case against her was submitted to the court for substantive consideration on October 10 of last year. In April 2023, Todurova was added to the list of 'extremists and terrorists' maintained by Rosfinmonitoring.

As calculated by 'First Department'**, since 1997, when the current Criminal Code came into force, at least 1000 people have become defendants in criminal cases of treason, confidential cooperation with a foreign state, and espionage, 792 of whom were prosecuted after the start of the full-scale war. There has not been a single acquittal under these articles.

* Included in the list of 'terrorists and extremists'.
** Recognized in Russia as 'foreign agents'.
