Hamas announced the suspension of hostage release, accusing Israel of violating the truce

2025.02.10

The terrorist group stated that Israel is delaying the return of displaced Gaza residents and hindering the delivery of humanitarian aid to the sector

As reported by The Times of Israel, a representative of the "Al-Qassam Brigades," Hudayfa Kahlut, known by the pseudonym Abu Ubaida, claims that Israel has not fulfilled its obligations under the current ceasefire agreement over the past three weeks. Therefore, the exchange of hostages and prisoners scheduled for Saturday will be postponed.

Abu Ubaida stated that Israel is delaying the return of displaced Gaza residents to the northern sector and is opening fire on them, as well as hindering the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Israeli media report that contrary to Hamas's accusations, about 13,800 trucks with humanitarian aid have entered Gaza during the ceasefire — 4,200 trucks per week, 600 per day, half of which are transferred to the northern part of the sector. In addition, 50 tankers with cooking gas and fuel enter Gaza daily, and four excavators have been brought in to clear debris, along with about 300,000 tents.

The release of three more Israeli hostages was planned for February 15.

The terrorist group demands "retroactive compensation" for the alleged violations of the ceasefire by Israel, otherwise, it will not release the hostages until further notice.

Israel's Defense Minister Yisrael Katz responded to the terrorist group's statement. "Hamas's statement is a complete violation of the ceasefire agreement and the hostage release deal. I have instructed the IDF to increase combat readiness for any developments in Gaza and to ensure the protection of Israeli communities."
