Former Deputy Chairman of the Board of 'RUSNANO' Boris Podolsky sent to detention center over abuse of power case

2025.02.01

He and two other detained former employees of 'RUSNANO' were accused of altering reports to secure funding of 43 billion rubles

The press service of the Moscow courts reported that Boris Podolsky was placed in a detention center for 1 month and 28 days. Earlier, it became known about the arrest of former top manager of 'RUSNANO' Marina Kasenkova. She is accused of abuse of power due to financial manipulations in the company's reporting.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on January 30, as part of the case of abuse of official powers, 'RUSNANO' executive director Boris Podolsky, managing director of finance Artur Galstyan, and director of accounting methodology, taxation, and reporting Maria Kasenkova were detained. They face up to ten years of imprisonment.

According to the investigation, in 2017, the detainees altered 'RUSNANO' reports to conceal the poor economic performance of the company. They presented the state, the sole shareholder, with false data about its stable condition. This allowed them to maintain state guarantees and secure additional funding. As a result, in 2022–2024, the state allocated 'RUSNANO' more than 43 billion rubles.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs also noted that in addition to 'RUSNANO' employees, there are 'other persons' involved in the case. Currently, investigative actions are being conducted with alleged witnesses, and 'all episodes of illegal activity, its circumstances, and accomplices' are being established.
