The court in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky found 70-year-old Vladimir Yefimov guilty under the article on repeated «discrediting» of the army and sentenced him to two years in a settlement colony, as well as a 4-year ban on administering websites and public pages, reported «Interfax».
This is already Yefimov's second sentence on charges of «discrediting» the Russian army. In 2023, he was already convicted for repeated «discrediting» of the army, fined 200 thousand rubles, and banned from publishing on the internet. According to Yefimov, the first case was initiated against him based on a report by the head of the regional branch of «Fair Russia» Dmitry Bobrovskikh and media manager Maxim Artemyev. The fine was later replaced with six months of freedom restriction. However, Yefimov violated the ban, which led to the second criminal case.
In addition, the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky court is already handling a third case against Vladimir Yefimov for «discrediting» the army and «displaying Nazi symbols». The second charge was prompted by a post about pro-government singer Shaman (Yaroslav Dronov), whom Yefimov compared to a youth from «Hitler Youth» in the film «Cabaret» directed by Bob Fosse.
