The Lefortovo Court of Moscow sentenced pensioner Konstantin Seleznev to eight years in a penal colony for two posts on VKontakte

In them, he addressed Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov and Vladimir Putin with a demand to investigate Russia's war crimes in Ukraine

The Lefortovo Court of Moscow found Konstantin Seleznev guilty under the article on spreading military «fakes» and sentenced him to 8 years in a general regime colony, reported a correspondent from Sotavision* from the courtroom.

Konstantin Seleznev was detained in the fall of 2023 and sent to a pre-trial detention center. The reason for the criminal prosecution was two publications on VKontakte, in which he addressed the Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Krasnov and Vladimir Putin. The post addressed to Krasnov contained a demand to investigate Russia's war crimes on the territory of Ukraine and data from UN reports. In the second publication, the pensioner criticized the awarding of the honorary title «Guards» to the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Brigade, called Putin the «leader of a terrorist state», and asked for an official response to his appeal.

During the search, his phone and passport were confiscated.

The sessions in the Lefortovo court, despite the fact that cases under the article on «fakes» are considered in an open regime, were closed to listeners until the verdict was announced. The reason for such secrecy is unknown even to the defendant himself.
