The first hearing in the case of a janitor from YNAO and the author of the channel «Infinity is not the limit» Igor Yakunichev took place in the Central District Military Court, reported the publication Sotavision*. His case involves seven episodes under articles on justifying terrorism, «discrediting» the army, and spreading «fakes» about the Russian army.
The prosecution charged Yakunichev based on publications in «VK» posts about events in Ukrainian Bucha. He was also accused of «justifying terrorism» due to posts about the explosion at Kakhovka HPP and supporting the Legion «Freedom of Russia»**.
At the trial, the investigator stated that the involvement of the Russian army in the destruction of Kakhovka HPP and the massacre in Bucha is false information and discredits the Russian army. The judge called the mass killings of civilians in Bucha an «orchestrated provocation by Ukraine» and stated that it was the «work of CIPSO», reports the correspondent of Sotavision.
The defendant himself stated that he does not acknowledge the charges against him, as he was merely «systematizing facts of war crimes [in Ukraine]». He also reported that he provided information about possible war crimes described in articles by The Times and Bellingcat*, and materials from UN meetings to the military prosecutor's office and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, but the agencies responded that they found no violations.
In April 2024, Igor Yakunichev was forcibly hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital in the Tyumen region. He is currently in pre-trial detention center No. 1 in Tyumen.
