In Surgut, a man was fined for a video with Ukrainian soldiers in Sudzha under the article on «discrediting» the army

2025.01.13

He sent it to a colleague in a messenger, and the colleague reported it to the police. In court, everyone repented, but the judge still issued a fine of 30 thousand rubles

The court of KhMAO on December 24, 2024, upheld the decision in the case of «public discrediting of the army» against 40-year-old employee of «Surgutneftegaz» Yevgeny Angelov, reports «7×7»*. According to the court ruling, Angelov sent his colleague a video in the messenger Viber that «discredited the Russian army and insulted the president». This video was forwarded by the woman to another colleague, who then filed a report with the police.

In court, the accused did not plead guilty, stating that he sent the video only to laugh at its character. And that he himself has a negative view of the video, as it features a Ukrainian soldier talking about breaking through the defense in the Kursk direction and insulting the residents of Russia and the president. According to Angelov, the colleague reported him out of revenge because he once complained about his being late to work.

The informant, in turn, stated that he had no penalties for being late to work, but had repeatedly heard Angelov speak negatively «about the ongoing special military operation and blame the death of people on the president of the Russian Federation».

Angelov was fined 30 thousand rubles, which is the minimum fine under this administrative article.
