In the Donetsk region, Russian military shot three POWs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the back of the head, claims the project DeepState

According to the Ombudsman of Ukraine, Dmytro Lubinets, the execution took place near the settlement of Neskuchne in the Volnovakha district of the Donetsk region. Preliminary data suggests that Russian occupiers executed three Ukrainian prisoners of war. They tied their hands and shot them in the back of the head, reported the portal DeepState.

Lubinets emphasized that according to the Geneva Conventions, prisoners of war are under special protection, and no country has the right to torture, abuse, or deprive them of life. “Russia demonstrates disregard for international norms. As the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, I once again urgently appeal to the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN. These organizations must condemn this crime and exert pressure on the Russian side to stop such acts,” stated Lubinets.

The initial report of the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war was made by DeepState. It is claimed that the crime occurred on January 3 at the position of the 141st OPBr after a Russian assault — Ukrainian prisoners were taken from their positions and executed.

This is not the first appeal by Ukraine to the UN and the Red Cross, but no actions have followed from these organizations. One of the most massive executions was the shooting of 16 Ukrainian soldiers in the Pokrovske direction in September of this year.
