In Yekaterinburg, the FSB detained four teenagers aged 17-18 on charges of «preparing a terrorist attack». The agency stated that the detainees «shared the ideas of a terrorist organization banned in Russia» and planned to carry out a terrorist attack using a homemade explosive device «in places of mass gatherings in Yekaterinburg».
According to the FSB, two of the suspects acquired components and independently manufactured an IED and an electrodetonator. Another detainee is accused of setting fire to a police car on the night of December 22 in Yekaterinburg.
All the detainees were arrested. They are accused of «preparing a terrorist attack», «manufacturing and carrying explosives». They could face 10 to 20 years in prison.
