A second criminal case has been initiated against Tamara Eidelman on charges of «rehabilitation of Nazism», reported RIA «Novosti». The exact reason is not specified.
In the summer of 2024, the Moscow prosecutor's office reported that a case had been initiated against Eidelman under the same article. She was then accused of statements «expressing clear disrespect for Russia's day of military glory and a memorable date associated with the defense of the Fatherland, as well as insulting the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland». She was also accused of «denying facts established by the verdict of the International Military Tribunal, approving Nazi crimes, or spreading knowingly false information about veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the activities of the USSR during World War II».
In 2003, Tamara Eidelman was awarded the title of Honored Teacher of Russia. After the start of the full-scale invasion, she emigrated from Russia. In September 2022, the Ministry of Justice included Eidelman in the list of «foreign agents».
Tamara Eidelman runs her YouTube channel, where she publishes historical lectures, including those dedicated to World War II, and holds events in different countries. She openly speaks out against the war and criticizes the Russian authorities.
For each criminal case, Tamara Eidelman faces up to five years in a penal colony.
