The FSB stated on Saturday that it managed to prevent the murder of a high-ranking Russian and Z-blogger, which was being prepared by Ukraine.
The special service reported the detention of a resident of the Moscow region, who allegedly was carrying out an assignment from the Ukrainian GUR.
According to the FSB, the detainee contacted a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine through a 'foreign messenger Telegram', who introduced himself as Andrey. Then, 'on the command of the curator', the man retrieved from a cache in the Moscow region an improvised explosive device disguised as a portable music speaker 'with a power of about one and a half kilograms in TNT equivalent <...> with striking elements in the form of balls'.
The man conducted 'reconnaissance activities at the places of residence of the targets for subsequent remote detonation', claims the special service, without disclosing the names of the intended victims.
A criminal case has been initiated, and it is noted that the detainee is cooperating with the investigation.
