This happened five hours after the verdict was announced

According to Shot, 39-year-old Roman Shvedov was found dead on December 18 during a lunchtime inspection, approximately 5 hours after the verdict was announced. Nearby was twisted bed linen. Before his death, his defense filed appeals to reduce the sentence, but twice received refusals.

The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced the 39-year-old anarchist from the village of Zimovniki to 16 years in a strict regime colony, finding him guilty under the article of 'terrorism' with significant damage. According to the investigation, he broke a window on the first floor of the Zimovniki district administration building with a brick and threw a three-liter container of gasoline inside. Firefighters extinguished the fire, but the office of the deputy head of the district and the head of one of the departments burned down. The administration estimated the damage at 941 thousand rubles.

Shvedov was arrested on September 30, 2022. Initially, the case against him was initiated under a less severe article of intentional destruction of property, but then it was reclassified as 'terrorism' because Shvedov acted 'with the purpose of destabilizing the activities of government bodies, influencing their decision-making,' as well as expressing protest against the war in Ukraine and mobilization.
